 News & Events

23rd April is marked as Earth Day; every year we celebrate it and we forget about our carbon footprints. This year as we were locked into our homes we witnessed pure air, clear sky, clear waters and thriving tree, birds and animals. This indicates to us how concious we have to be in consumption of the natural resources, to be able to leave a better world for the generations to come. Our students served the mother earth in different ways to mark their gratitude. Students planted trees, pledged to save water and reduce use of plastic.

Experiences of Extempore Competition

Participating in the Extempore Competition was a great opportunity. It was a fabulous interactive session with our friends and teachers. The competition promotes development of skills like fluency in speaking, strengthens our vocabulary, brings confidence and improves pronunciation. There were two participants from my house Jhanak Devda and myself. The topic I spoke on was, "Impact of Covid on the world and changes you see". The session was full of learning. But the question which was left behind in my mind is 'Why did only two students participate?' Every student should attend all online sessions. I am very thankful to my teachers for conducting this amazing extempore competition to engage us in the continued learning process.
Sanyogita Ranawat / X A

I had a great experience from the Extempore Competition. The competition which analyses the awareness of the speaker to speak on the spot on any random topic. It was a very interesting and informative competition. Judges in this competition keep their eyes on fluency, confidence and knowledge and pronunciation of the participant about the topic.
One issue is that just a few students participated and I really wish that more students must participate in such competitions. We can resolve this problem by having house meetings, House Captains and Vice Captains should build team spirit among their house members.

Lockdown couldn’t stop my love for Crickets. During the lockdown, I have taken special care of my body fitness along with my studies while being at home, so that I can give my 100% whenever I get a chance to play a match back on the field. For this, I exercise daily in the morning and do a Sedo Practice of various shots of Cricket such as cover drive, state drive, on the drive, pool, score, etc.  Thus, I also practice my favourite sport; Cricket while keeping myself fit in the lockdown.
Please do watch my practice video and share your views or even suggestions.

Someone to walk with
I never cried doesn’t mean that I’m never hurt,
I was hurt many times
But I never saw someone to give their shoulder
Everyone was busy showing their pride
I was badly broken from inside
I was having no one on my side
No one saw my sorrow which was too wide
That was the time when I needed someone
When I pleaded for someone
You always saw me standing strong
Never asked for help you thought I was strong
But unfortunately, you were wrong
I was having no one who meant to me
I was not alone but had fear around me
I wonder why in that fear no one found me
I’m just done by walking alone
I need someone to put my head on
I need someone not to walk for me but to walk with me till the end
I wish that person could be my close friend
All the moments together we spend
I need someone till the very end!!!

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves
Self-help is the best form of help. When we do our work instead of depending upon others, we align ourselves to receive divine help. It is better to rely on our efforts and then pray to god to help us succeed in our hard work. Many things are shaped by prayer, but not merely by prayer. Our attempts and efforts are very much essential and our prayers will strengthen our purposes. Our foremost responsibility as God's creation is to do our best in whatever we strive we do. Only then God lends a helping hand. But if we choose to be lazy, waiting for someone else to do our work for us, God will not help us in any way because he has given us the ability to help ourselves and we should be using it constantly. If we observe we will see that the most successful men are the ones who are the most hardworking as well.  We know success awaits those who work hard.  Hence, we can say that God helps but helps only those who help themselves.

Why are Human resources important for a nation?
Human resources must be considered both from the angle of assets as well as the liabilities connected with the attainment of economic development. For the attainment of economic development, proper utilization of both natural as well as human resources is very much essential.
Proper utilization of natural endowments and the level of production of national wealth depend very much on the extent and efficiency of human resources.
But too much population will again eat up all the fruits of development. Thus, from the point of view of economic welfare, it is quite essential to study human resources in detail. It should be equally stressed that human beings are the vital instrument of production and at the same time, fruits of all economic activities are rested on the betterment of conditions of living of human beings.

News and Events
Thursday, 15th April: New Session starts for Middle Section followed by the Primary Section.
Elections were constituted for the Student Governing Body. Leadership role under Legislature, Judiciary and the Executive will create opportunities to enhance 21st Century Skills.

Introducing you to the Head Boy & Head Girl of the Academic Session 2021-22
I am Aryan Sirvi , Headboy of The Fabindia school . I am very grateful to everyone who believed in me and supported me for making me the school headboy. I think that being headboy of the school is not an easy job. A person having good leadership skills , confidence and good communication skills can handle the post of a headboy . I am studying in the school for last 15 years and things which school have done for me in those years cannot be forgotten. School gave me lot of opportunities whether it would be playing sports at a big level , developing a lot of skills in myself or making me that capable of being the school headboy. I came in the school as a small plant and now as the school has made me a strong tree , I would like to give my shade to the school. Giving shade means I want to help my teachers and school management. There are a number of activities in the school in the whole year and teachers are always busy in preparation of these activities for students . I will help them in managing these activities so that they can focus more on their teaching . I want myself to emerge as a good leader from here. A leader is not someone who just stands in front of a group of people . A leader is someone who is unbiased and can see how things can be improved in a good manner . Headboy is not boss of students , he is just a servant of students . I am feeling very proud on being the headboy of the school and will give 120% towards the school.
Thank you
Aryan Sirvi
Head Boy

First of all I would like to thank all of you for supporting me and believing in me. I was very happy that everyone in the school loves me and they want me to be the head girl.
Being a head girl is a very huge responsibility for me and now it's my duty to take decisions for betterment of the school and I'll constantly be alert, observant and sensitive to the needs of the school and act promptly after consulting and getting orders from the Principal. And most importantly I'll never let my school down. I promise you all that I'll always be serious towards my duties. To every Fabindian, I would like to say that grab all the opportunities that come to you and make the school flag flutter high. I'll encourage those students who feel shy in participating to come forward voluntarily and participate. Together we can bring a change. As the head girl it will be a great pleasure for me to bring good changes in our school.
Plans for upcoming year:-
I'll represent my school as an ambassador of school and will try to become role model for Juniors as a disciplined student. I'll command the whole school in discipline. With the help of my teachers, we can create a platform where the students can come up with any sorts of complaints without any fear. Ragging, bullying, teasing, physical abuse can be the main reasons of such complaints. With the help of the school we'll create an online platform where students can publish their write-ups. We will urge the students to focus on academics as well as in improving their talents instead of wasting time in other useless activities.
Most importantly we'll together make all the students respect each other.
Upcoming year will definitely give me lot of experiences.

PLANTATION
Plants are very important for the planet and all living things. Plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen from their leaves, which humans and other animals need to breathe. Living things need plants to live, they eat to live in them.
I and some of my family members were going to the south side to visit new places and new temples and there we planted more than 30 plants and trees. We enjoyed planting trees and watering them. We've planted these plants at different places like Jagannath puri, Rameshwaram, Thirupathi and more.
Plants help to clean the air we breathe. In urban environments, plants and trees absorb pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke.
Trees reduce the amount of stormwater runoff, which reduce erosion and pollution in our waterway and may reduce the effects of flooding. Many species of wildlife depend on trees for habitats. Trees provide food, protection, and homes for many birds and mammals.
Trees and shrubs improve soil and water conservation, store carbon, moderate local climate by providing shade, regulate temperature extremes, increase wildlife habitat and improve the land's capacity to adapt to climate change.
Plants and trees are an essential resource for both humans and animals, we all rely on them for food, water, medicine, the air we breathe, habitat, our climate and more.

Art
Art is the creation of a new thing. It is innovation. Art can be visual or technical. Art can be painting, crafting, or artefacts.
I believe that art is a mind relaxing activity. We can make a new thing with our creativity. Art makes us imagine new things that can be put on paper. It is similar to playing with colours. In older times people used to draw something by their imagination that can be drawing or to discover a new thing. In today's times, people can also use the browser to make a new thing.
I love to draw whenever I sit quietly. I discover fun and happiness in painting something interesting.

How to Be a Good Player
Being a good player is about more than skills. If you want to improve your game and the games of your teammates, you can learn to fill the role your team demands of you, leading by example and being the best sportsman you can be. Teams need good players.
1.Develop your fundamentals. If you want to be a good team player, you've got to work first on being a good all-around athlete, spending time building the fundamental skills necessary to your sport. If you want to be a great basketball player, that means spending time dribbling, developing your defensive skills, and learning to make crisp passes. If you want to be a great soccer player, you've got to learn to control the ball, shoot accurately, and move to space.
2. Learn the responsibilities of your position. Playing a team means filling a specific role. Unlike being a tennis player or a golfer, playing as a part of a team means filling a role. It's not every football player's job to score touchdowns, and it's not every soccer player's job to shoot goals. Being a good player means learning the specific responsibilities and role of your position, and studying how best to fill that role.
3. Practice hard. Showing up to practice and giving every single workout your best effort is a critical part of being a good team player. Practice hard and you'll improve your skills and your knowledge of the game, setting you and your team up for success.

Friendship
Friendship is a divine relationship. We don’t have similarity in our blood, but still, that person cares for us. Irrespective of all differences, a friend chooses you, understands you, and support you. Whenever you are in self-doubt or lacking confidence, talk to a friend, and your worry will surely go away.
A true friend will always want your happiness. A life without a good friend is merely empty. Honesty is the key factor to maintain the friendship forever. For understanding each other’s emotions, you have to be completely honest with each other. Patience and acceptance are also other factors for friendship to last long. Understanding the differences as well as accepting them is what a maturity factor in a friendship. Friendship will fulfill you with sweet memories that you can cherish for the rest of your life. The unbounded love, as well as care, is what makes the relationship between two friends strong.

Honesty and Trust
To be honest is to be real , genuine , authentic and true. Honesty experiences both self respect and respect for others. Honesty imbues lives with openness and reliability. Honesty and trust are the key ingredients in the development of a person. Our credibility is at the centre of our ability to influence others and provide strong leadership. Honesty is the foundation of trust in a relationship and trust is necessary for a relationship to function and thrive when you're always honest with someone and yourself too. It makes them feel that they can trust you and the things you say ,it helps them know they can believe your promises and commitments .Trust may be based on a feeling that you have the other person’s back when he or she is not in the room. It may be the confidence you will advocate, the other person’s point of view with clarity and understanding. Trust may be gained as you’re seen to act in the best interest of the team or organization rather than acting primarily to advance your personal agenda.

A Spark of Anger
Anger is a completely natural and usually healthy emotion. Anger is triggered when we face obstacles or individuals that block our needs. It prepares us to deal with the problems in our path by mobilizing resources, increasing vigilance and by facilitating the removal of obstacles so that we get where we want to be.
Anger, good or bad, solely depends upon whether we control our anger or anger controls us. The truth is, there are plenty of instances when we are right to be angry. For example, anger is necessary when we face injustice or exploitation. It is an obvious response when you treat people around you with respect and in a fair way but don’t get it in return. It is anger that helps us to take stand against the injustice and oppression prevalent in society.
Anger provides us insight into our faults and shortcomings and aids self-improvement. The problem, however, arises when anger grows out of proportion. It is then that it impedes our decision-making ability and leads to serious problems in our family, relationships and workplace and at times leads to violence and destruction.
How to deal with anger?
Basically, there are three ways to channelize your anger.
The first one is by suppressing it. This happens when you hold your anger and stop thinking about it. But this unexpressed anger can create other problems like hypertension, high blood pressure, and even depression. It may turn you into a cynical and sarcastic person. Sarcasm is the most common expression of unexpressed emotions.
The second way is by calming yourself not just by controlling your outward behavior but also by controlling your inward responses and letting the feeling subside. But at times, this leads to inaction out of the fear of getting you angry or others getting angry at you.
The final way is expressing your anger appropriately. It means you may express your feelings in an assertive manner but not in an aggressive manner. This allows you to be respectful of yourself and others. It is the healthiest way to express anger. In the name of managing anger, we end up holding it in or avoiding associated feelings. This way we create apathy and indifference among common people and produce mere followers. But as a progressive society, we need angry but thoughtful citizens who are leaders in the true sense and are able to lead society and bring positive changes and not just deaf and dumb followers. Since expressing anger appropriately is a learned behaviour, we can make each and every member of our young generation assume the role of a true leader of tomorrow.

Simple Living and High Thinking
Modern Times has brought a change in the lifestyle of the people. They have changed their way of living. Emergence of technology and new inventions has made their life easier and materialistic. This has confined them in the four walls of their office or home.
They have lost their simple joys somewhere like spending time with families, friends, relatives etc. They do not go and spend their time in the natural environment or play outside or read books. This is destroying their ability to think high. The new lifestyle has led to various diseases like obesity, diabetes, cancer etc.
Due to this people are overburdened, stressed, full of anxiety and negative thoughts. To maintain a lavish lifestyle one spends more than he earns. To meet his lavish lifestyle he has to take loan or make compromises. One who lives a simple lifestyle doesn’t have to make compromises or take loan or be stressed about monetary joys. If you live in a simple way you will get time to think about the other aspects which are important for you. You will not be stressed instead you will be peaceful at heart. High thinking means to think positively and for the betterment of oneself and humanity.
If you are not stressed or worried, then it will have a positive effect on one’s life so you should always live in simple way. If you eat healthy food, exercise properly; think positively, stay happy then it will lead to happy & healthy life. I would like to end by quoting, ‘A person should never be judged by his clothes; for simplicity lies in simple living & high thinking.’

WORLD HEALTH DAY
April 7 of each year marks the celebration of World Health Day. From its inception at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and since taking effect in 1950, the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization.
Over the past 50 years this has brought to light important health issues such as mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change. The celebration is marked by activities which extend beyond the day itself and serves as an opportunity to focus worldwide attention on these important aspects of global health.
Theme 2021: Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone
In recent years, countries in the Western Pacific have experienced rapid economic growth, migration and urbanization. This created opportunities for better lives for many, but left others behind. The COVID-19 pandemic has undercut recent health gains, pushed more people into poverty and food insecurity, and amplified gender, social and health inequities

Honesty
Being honest is essential in life due to the fact it solves many troubles and leads to peace and success. Honesty is the wealth that offers trustworthy people a lot of trust and appreciates in life. Honesty is the best policy as the reason is the foundation of a well-functioning relationship. Further, it nourishes many lives in several ways. Here, trust is the basis of any relationship that is received honestly.
People usually find it difficult, to be honest, because it is quite challenging to maintain honesty. Honesty means being truthful to a person in all aspects of life. It includes not lying to anyone, not hurting anyone through bad habits, activities, or behavior. An honest person never gets involved in morally wrong activities. Honesty does not break any rules and regulations, be discipline, behave well, speak the truth, be punctual, and honestly help others.
Honesty helps a person to get around, lots of happiness, and blessings from the supreme power, and faith in many things. Being honest is very beneficial in real life. It is not something that one can buy or sell. This is a good habit that one can attain through practice.
2017 July, my dad felt worth sharing the importance of honesty. I was an average student in grade 8th, lazy and irresponsible. My father's words were like a kind of miracle which changed my life. He said "Khush, we should also need to focus on our duty and uphold our responsibilities and should always need to be honest towards our work." Further he added "Life should be great not long and being honest towards our work is one of the most important things which have been in the list of values required being successful. You must acquire this quality. Laxman was honest with Lord Rama while Vibhishana wasn't. That’s why Lord Rama possesses the ability to defeat Ravana, more powerful and wealthier than Lord Rama. So we conclude that honesty must be part of your ethics."
The spark lighted up myself. I starting working hard, studied well and was able to secure third position in academics.

Tolerance
What is Tolerance? Tolerance means a quality which enables one to tolerate the presence of others. It can make a way with all kinds of discords and disputes. Tolerance is respecting the opinion of others which is different from his own opinion.
How we can show tolerance towards someone:
1. Try to understand other’s point of view.
2. Listen carefully to others when they are talking to us.
3. Don't disrespect others.
4. Try to keep self control on one’s mind.
Tolerance is the most important virtue. People don't seem to be tolerant towards others behavior, they react without thinking. We should show some respect for everyone.
This behaviour not only creates a perfect person but also motivates others to be tolerant.

Tolerance
Tolerance is a noble virtue. It is something which should be in everyone and everywhere. Meanwhile intolerance is quite opposite to it. Tolerance in one can increase his nobility. Tolerance does not mean to come up against any principle. A man with tolerance is a man with wisdom. A tolerant person does not tolerate political and financial dishonesty. Humans being social animal need to adopt the virtue of tolerance. It will help us to live a better and conscious full life. Whereas intolerance is quite opposite to it as it makes a person out of knowledge. It's a well-known fact that it's a universal law that intolerance is the first sign of inadequate education. One should respect other’s point of view and one should also try to tolerate small things. Mahatma Gandhi quoted, ‘Anger and intolerance are the enemy of correct understanding.’

Happiness
Happiness is the key to success. Without happiness life is not just a life. I think that, try to make at least one person happy every day, and then in ten years you may have made three thousand, six hundred and fifty persons happy. We buy beautiful things; we go to restaurants and love to travel these things also make us happy.
I would like to share an incident which I experienced. On a beautiful early winter morning I and my friends went to the playground to play cricket. Same as every day we made two teams of seven-seven players each. Then tossed a coin for choosing batting or bowling, my team won the toss and chose to bat first. I was the opener of my team because I like to bat first. By mistake when the bowler threw the ball and I hit it,
it directly went and hit the knee of my friend. He started crying, I tried so much to stop him but he didn't. At last he stopped crying.
After he stopped crying, I brought him to my home and applied ointment & bandaged him where the ball had hit him. After that I dropped him at his house. So, he was thankful and very happy on seeing my service for him.
We can make our life happier. It is a matter of choice. We might say it is impossible, since you have so many problems.
The source of happiness is we own. Happiness starts from us.
Happiness is a good feeling of satisfaction.  For example:
Eating good, delicious food.
Feeling the warm rays of the sun on a winter day.
Watching a good movie.
Having fun at a party.
Lying in bed after a long tiring day.
Playing with friends.
By helping our mothers and sisters at home making them feel good, etc.
These very-very small things make our life happy, joyful, exciting, enjoyable, etc.
